Charleston Wine + Food Fest

Sometimes I don’t blog as much because real-life writing sometimes gets in the way. This is one of those times.

Last weekend, Clay and I went downtown for the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. As a contributor for, I received free admission into the event (pretty stellar because at $100 a person on a house-hunting budget, we would not have been able to go otherwise).

We had a great time- it was fun sampling food and drinks from various local restaurants, listening to the speakers, and watching the cooking demonstrations.

My article was published Friday night, so I wanted to share it with everyone. You can read it here, or if you want to instantly get hungry, you can look at the pictures here.

  1. this is like my blogging goal to attend some sort of foodie fest. so lucky you got to check this out!

  2. How awesome and what a fantastic write-up of it. Sounds like a blast and a good way to learn more about Charleston.

Thanks. Yeah, I loved writing the article and of course the “research” was the fun part! I liked that I got to do the sampling bc being relatively new in town I could learn about more places. So I’m glad I got to do that instead of just one of the dinners where a chef cooked for you or something.

  3. That is great! I would love to go to it one year… seriously Charleston food + wine (who cares what kind) sounds like a wonderful day to me! Congrats for the opportunity.

Thanks :). If you ever get the chance to go, do it. I did learn that Sunday is “locals day”, so the tickets are $70 instead of $100. It’s still pricey for us, but definitely a much better option for Charleston area residents to go that day and save some $$$!

And yeah… pretty much every food here is good :). Good thing we work out so much!

  4. I like that you posted something more or less work related. So interesting to see the other side. Wow $100 is not cheap at all so that is obviously a nice perk of writing. 😉

Wow! That’s so cool. Did you roll home afterwards?
