National Running Day 2012!

I celebrated this morning with a 3.1 mile run around the neighborhood before work. It was so beautiful outside, and I’m so much faster when it’s cool in the morning!

Normally Wednesday is my day off of running and coaching (since I run or coach pretty much every other day), and I just do yoga- but I couldn’t let National Running Day occur and not go for a run. I also ran Tuesday morning, as I’m trying to become a morning runner (especially since once I get moved, I’ll be working from home for awhile).

Everything is going well with the move so far. Clay started his new job down in Charleston is staying with a friend for a few days. I’m still here in Florence, enjoying some goodbye parties and packing and cleaning a bit more.

Here’s a picture of my technical writing buddies and I at my goodbye lunch yesterday. We went out for Indian food, and our administrative assistant and super speedy runner friend Susan went too.

Our last track practice of the season went well last night, minus the sprint blocks being left in Lane 3. We started our 1500 kiddos off on an Indian run, and one little boy tripped over the blocks. This caused a domino reaction with the kiddos behind him, but nobody was hurt and it was definitely a funny end to the last practice.

Until next time…

I hate that I can not run today. Fitness Forum is having a 3 mile run at 6:30, but I will be doing my duty at VBS.

  2. So glad the move is going good so far! I’m sure it will all be just fine 🙂 And I really need to celebrate national running day.

  3. I really want to dedicate one day a week to just doing yoga as my workout! I usually only fit in 10 or 15 minutes along with my other stuff but I love how strong and calm it makes me feel after a good session.

Yeah, it’s awesome! I really just do it on Wednesday because we don’t have track practice, and the yoga class at my gym is taught by the instructor I really, really like. It’s kinda nice to have a day when I do something completely different but very relaxing and I really love yoga now. I am going to find another place to practice once I get moved and settled.

  4. Great way to celebrate!

  5. Sounds like an awesome time to me. Glad it was so much fun!
