Five Question Friday and Cupcakes with the Girls

Five Question FridayFive Question FridayHey guys! I hope you’re all doing well! It’s Friday, I don’t have major weekend plans, AND the time is changing, so I’m pretty stoked.

Today, Mels, Steph, Kaitlyn, and I went to the Sweet cupcake shop to celebrate it being Friday and just because :). I had a really delicious “Mint Condition” (chocolate mint) cupcake with green frosting for St. Patrick’s Day. It was a special on the menu just for this week, so I treated myself to it- I’ve gotten a lot better about treating myself to little things like this occasionally and it’s really worth it. Sure, you can eat fat free or low fat foods all the time, but honestly, this was so much more satisfying, and I got to enjoy some time with my friends from work :).

We also had a birthday celebration for my project manager, Rhonda, yesterday. She’s turning 40 tomorrow, so we decorated her cubicle in black balloons and “40 is fabulous” signs. Also, they sang Happy Birthday to her in a meeting and one of our programmers played his guitar. It was pretty sweet- Financials team rules!

1. Are you looking forward to the time change this weekend?

Yes! I’m not looking forward to losing an hour of sleep and losing an hour of my weekend, but I am looking forward to the sun staying out longer. This way I’ll be able to run after work without having to get off work super early. And really, I just like this time better.

2. Are you getting the new iPad/would you want a iPad?

Getting one? No. Want one? Well yeah, I’d take one. I’d rather just have a new laptop, though, so I’ll probably get a new laptop in the next few months anyway.

3. If money was not a problem, what is the one thing you would splurge on?

Well, money really isn’t a problem, but I’m pretty thrifty with it anyway (Pretty sure the fact that I’ve always been smart with my money is why I’m not in debt and why it’s not a problem…). I definitely splurge on nice vacations (cruises), but would love to splurge on a cruise around Europe.

Here’s a throwback picture from our first cruise in October 2009.

4. How did you and the Mr. (or Mrs.) meet?

This is probably a subject for an entire blog post rather than one question, but in short, we met while in college at Francis Marion University. Our first date was in the summer of 2005, where we went to Cici’s Pizza on a really rainy night after messaging each other on Myspace and AIM for a few weeks that summer.

Clay is still my #1, even though I haven’t used Myspace in probably 3 years…

5. Summer is right around the corner. Bikini or one-piece?

Well, I guess it’s obvious from the picture above, but I’m a bikini girl. I don’t think I’ve had a one-piece swimsuit since high school (I was heavier then). I never liked one piece swimsuits anyway and I’m sure I’ll wear bikinis until I have a child and no longer can- then I’ll switch to tankinis or something. I don’t wear super skimpy bikinis or thongs, though… yuck! I aim for classy, not trashy :).

Happy Friday!

  1. I’m a bikini girl too–I can’t remember ever wearing a one-piece except for when I was a little kid and in swimming lessons, but even then I mostly wore two-pieces. I’m all about looking classy though, I just think it’s tacky when some women wear such skimpy swimsuits, but to each their own!

I think it’s really awesome that you can feel okay with treating yourself from time to time. I’ve gotten a little bit better at that too, but it’s still a work in progress.

Yeah, I did. Although something happened right before we went out for cupcakes that really set me off (a coworker made a rude comment about me going out for a cupcake… yea, seriously!). I’m thinking it’ll require it’s own blog, but basically, I’m glad I still went out and enjoyed my dessert. It’s not like I do these things every day, that’s what makes them *treats* 🙂

I wished I’d read this in Friday – I totally didn’t realize it was time change! Today I was thinking I wish we could spring forward at like 3:00pm on a Monday. Magically lose an hour of work!

I’d spend $ on a sweet house (location and design – not necessarily huge) and traveling.

I kind of want an iPad, but I can’t think of a reason to really get one. I have an iPhone and a MacBook, so I don’t really need an iPad too. So, I’ll continue to hold out. People bring their iPads to work. So far it appears they only play games on them, ha.

  3. I used to be a bikini girl and tankini girl but no longer =( However; I have found some really cute bathing suits at target that are better than the typical one piece. They make them prettier now, and I’ll be happy with one of those =) I have been losing a lot of weight recently though and am back to a 9/10 in Juniors, but my problem is the horrible stretch marks Christopher left me with. I had used that cream two times a day and every day after I had Christopher and they haven’t even faded. =( That’s the only reason why I will go to a one piece– even though Chris says I should display my “tiger stripes” proudly. lol. Sweet… but I dont’ like people staring.
