It’s Okay Thursday- March 1

Hey guys :). Welcome to March!

I hope you’re all having a great week so far. Mine hasn’t been too busy and has actually been a bit relaxing, but I’m sure we’ll have something crazy happen soon- these feelings never last very long.

Today I’m linking up with A Complete Waste of Makeup for It’s Okay Thursday.

It's Okay

To give your body extra rest when it needs it. I’ve been going to bed earlier and sleeping in a bit, and it feels so great. You can only run on adrenaline for so long.

To go to the grocery store *just* to get a Cafe Mocha from the coffee machine, in your pajamas, on a Sunday morning. Talk about odd looks from dressed-up churchgoers :).

To be super excited about writing restaurant reviews for PeeDeeFoodie.com. I’ve already met a lot of new people, and it’s getting me out of my comfort zone of always eating at the same restaurants.

To feel technologically challenged even though I work at a software company. I got a new Windows 7 computer last week and am *still* figuring out where everything is!

To have a closet that looks like it threw up! Pretty sure my Sunday morning cleaning spree  will be spent doing laundry, hanging up clothes, and possibly getting rid of some. Time to declutter!

To live vicariously through Cruise Critic reviews because you’re super ready for another vacation. We’re thinking about taking a Western Caribbean cruise this Fall.

Q1.) Do you leave the house in your pajamas? Sometimes… I do look like a college student, so I can get away with it.

Q2.) Do you use Windows 7? Only at work… still have XP at home, but I’ll probably update my home laptop sometime this year.

Q3.) How many hours of sleep do you get at night? Usually about 6 or so, but lately I’ve been getting at least 8 and it feels so much better!

When I went to college in Missouri, I noticed more people dressed up for church than here in Ohio. It’s the same when I go to Florida. I think that’s special, because a lot of churches around here are going towards jeans and slacks, and it seems like you’re looked down on for dressing up. Sad. I mean, when I visited the Bible study last night, I wore jeans and fit in, but that’s Wednesday night. Sunday mornings were dress-up when I grew up. 😛

    1. When it’s warm enough for a hoodie or sweater, yes. But I don’t wear PJ pants in public with my leopard print coat. I don’t know… there’s just something about bright red heart print pants, or purple stars pants, or pink Eeyore pants that don’t go with my coat. Only hoodies, sweaters and t-shirts. And long-sleeved shirts. 🙂
    2. Nope. Windows Vista.
    3. A lot lately. I actually haven’t kept track. But I know it’s been a lot.

Haha, my coat is a beige pea coat (well, I have a few North Faces, and a few other pea coats, but primarily wear beige), so it matches all my pajama pants… and every other pair of pants out there.

For the most part, down South or in the country, it seems like people dress up for church. But it’s really different depending on where you go geographically, the type of church, the church’s size, etc. Every church is different… believe me, that’s the first thing you learn in my industry!

I love the “Its okay” thing! Its always okay to leave the house without make-up I use to always wear it and now I love going without it! March has been great so far, in a few hours I will be on break for a whole week! Cant wait 🙂

Haha, I took a picture of myself after my facial a few weeks ago and posted it in here. I didn’t have on any makeup, just wanted to show how great the beauty school facial was! I think as females we worry about looks a little too much and just need to go with it sometimes!

    1) NO WAY. LOL I am always dressed and have makeup on. My hair may or may not be done though. Even to take Nat to and from school, I am dressed. I am always afraid my car will break down or something will happen and I won’t be dressed.

    2) I have no idea what Windows I am running on. Whatever came on my laptop when I bought it 3 years ago. lol I don’t pay attention.

    3) 6-7 hours of sleep.

Haha, you may not know your Windows version but at least you know you’re on Windows (you *would* know if you weren’t on Windows!).

You are right about worrying about breaking down. That’s why, especially in winter, I try to make sure I’m wearing enough clothes, etc. Never know when something may happen and you might have to walk or be stuck somewhere for a bit. I’m a little paranoid like that too…

  4. I know what you mean girl. I love this post. I wear sweats and am on a college campus so I guess it’s acceptable. I normally wear black leggings which I deam okay to leave in 🙂

  5. I’m weird for a college kid because I always dress up, even on the weekends. Not like dressing up for church or anything, but I never wear sweats or pajamas outside the house. For some reason, I just feel more comfortable in real clothes. And actually at the church I go to at home, people don’t really dress up except for Easter and Christmas, so I usually just wear a nice sweater and jeans or something.

    • Amy Lauren says:

You wear super cute clothes though :).

I always had to dress up for my internship in college, so on those days, I looked really nice. Other days… not so much. I’ve gotten especially lazy working here since we can wear jeans anytime we want!

    I loved this post!
And pajamas out are kind of my guilty pleasure 🙂
Congrats on the food review gig! I’m excited to check it out!
    Have a great week Amy!

  7. Love it!!! And I have definitely left the house in just pajamas. And glasses. it’s a hot look. 😉
