Hey guys! It’s time for Five Question Friday!
My amazing birthday weekend put me in a good mood and it’s lasted all week!. I’ve gotten a lot accomplished on our upcoming software release, got our monthly client e-mail newsletter out, worked out each day, volunteered with the track club, looked at vacation options for Clay and I around Christmas, taken a couple of breaks at work (*gasp* I even left for lunch one day!) and pretty much stayed sane and balanced- definitely a good thing :).
As far as this weekend goes, Clay and I are running the Camp RAE 5K Saturday morning, then watching the game around lunchtime. Hopefully, with our new quarterback, we can pull off a road win and maybe Clay and I can relax a bit afterwards since we’ve both been so busy with school and work.
1. Do you prefer your ice cream in a bowl or in a cone?
The best ice cream is a Baklava Sundae which comes in a bowl :).
I’m not a fan of cones at all- so much messier. I have had the chocolate dipped cones from Dairy Queen and they’re pretty good, but we don’t have Dairy Queen here, so I opt for cup if I get ice cream or froyo.
2. What do you love the smell of?
Right now, I really love the smell of my pumpkin spice cookies. It’s like they smell like Fall, seriously :). If it only felt like Fall outside; I’m so sick of 80 degree temps.
3. Giftcards or no? (In regards to gift giving…)
I actually like getting gift cards if it’s for a place I can use. The last one I got was for Dick’s Sporting Goods, which I can definitely use. Some gift cards, like the restaurant ones, I’m not really a big fan of those, but stores… that’s great!
I also like gift cards for massages, pedicures, things like that, because if I got cash, I probably wouldn’t spend it on treating myself.
4. What sports did you play in high school (if any) and do you still play them?
I didn’t play sports in high school (I didn’t have the right last name- it was one of those schools). I don’t ever intend to play team sports- I’d rather run long distances.
Speaking of distances, going easy on the running has made it hella hard to build my distance back! I spent months building my endurance, and it’s gone downhill fast in just three weeks! I’m hoping to get a nice 7-8 miler in soon
5. Were you in band in high school? What instrument did you play?
I was in band for four years! I played flute and piccolo and loved it, but I quit before my senior year. I guess I realized I wouldn’t be doing band in college (I wasn’t that good), that my musical career was limited to high school, and I wanted a change. After four years of nonstop band, it was getting old, so I spent senior year working at the grocery store, taking a college course and several honors courses, spending time with friends and family, and looking toward my future.
My high school no longer has a band program, and I will always have a soft spot for it.
