Of Bridal Showers and Bigger Backseats…

After this weekend’s bridal shower, I’m leaning toward an SUV for my next vehicle- for good reason.  Nothing makes you feel more blessed the a 30 minute drive squished between barbeque tools and bed linens, followed by 7 trips to the car to unload everything at the apartment.

Of course, once all the gifts were inside,  it looked like we’d just robbed a home store.  I assure you, you won’t be seeing my picture in a  “Mug Shotz” newspaper the next time you pay for gas inside, but we got lots of great gifts that we’ve already started using. I even had to go to TJ Maxx to purchase another box of  Thank You notes- but what better purchase to make post-shower, right?

Here are some pictures of the gracious gifts, fantastic food, and amazing attendees.  I’m really thankful for my friends and family members who made the drive to Clay’s parents’ house for the shower, too!

Wow!! That’s a lot of presents. Hehe. Someone once told me that their mom said that getting married is like one long Christmas. You get a lot of presents and gifts. hehe. I can see that now. 🙂

Congrats on being able to fill up a car with those!

Hehe… I finally went to my first bridal shower a couple yrs. ago at Evangel. My old suitemate was getting married. And it was funny because this was truly a “no boys allowed” shower, and I remember telling my mom on the phone what I got Jessica because I got the Facebook invite telling me certain things to buy. Well, pretty much the gifts were “wedding night” gifts, and my mom couldn’t understand that. LOL. When I told her what I got Jessica, she said, “Can’t you get her a toaster or something?” I was like, “Mom, all the other girls are getting her, well, you know what.” Haha.

It was great! So now, thanks to your blog post, I know what a formal bridal shower looks like. 🙂 Thanks for showing us, Amy! And I’m so happy for you. 🙂

  5. Wow! That does look like quite the load. New house stuff is always fun. 🙂
