Trimming the Tree!

After a Saturday filled with moving, lifting, organizing, yummy spinach quesadillas, and screaming at the TV (i.e. the SEC Championship game), Clay and I put up the Christmas tree.

Here is the light master who pieced the tree together...

Putting ornaments on the tree. I did this while he watched the game.

It’s mine and Clay’s first Christmas tree, and I think we did a pretty good job- thanks to our moms for the tree and decorations, that is.

I love, love, love, the Peanuts cartoons- can't you tell? I have one from each decade, 1950s - 1990s :).

It was also my first experience with a pre-lit Christmas tree. Growing up, my parents were old school (NOT just old). We had an artificial tree with the colored lights that you had to plug in and ‘test’, then string on the tree.

I loved our Christmas trees growing up, but whoever thought up the pre-lit Christmas tree deserves an award in my book! Maybe I’m a little biased, but I think ours looks great!

So glad I'm marrying a tall boy...

The finished production

Stockings hung with care...

... and of course, the real reason for Christmas is there 🙂
