Friday 5K and Fall Excitement!

Despite being super busy at work and at home (cleaning and preparing for a yard sale on Saturday), I managed to squeeze in a nice 3.1 mile run on the treadmill.

This Week’s 5K Time: 28:15 (9:06 pace)

It’s supposed to cool down with temperatures in the high 80s next week here- and after today’s high of 97 degrees, it’s about time!

Reasons why I’m super excited about Fall:

  • No more 95+ degree temperatures.
  • No extremely cold temperatures– you don’t have to put those flip-flops away yet!
  • College football.
  • My birthday.
  • I can run outside (safely!), do longer runs, and sign up for races again.
  • Halloween and tons of awesome candy and goodies.
  • I won’t have to take off my sweater/hoody that I wear at my desk at work just to walk outside.
  • You can hear the high school marching bands practicing in the evenings (brings back memories!)
  • Cool local things like the Pecan Festival happen in the Fall.
  • Elections are held. This fascinates me.
  • The sale papers for Black Friday sales leak onto the internet, so you can plan your purchases and trips accordingly :). Β Clay and I do this *every* year.
  • Thanksgiving and more football (Clemson vs. Carolina, anyone?!?).

I'm excited about Fall, but I don't think I'd be this happy while raking leaves, sorry.

    Hey, Amy! πŸ˜€

Yeah, autumn is a very exciting time. I like it a lot as well. I’m not big on Halloween, but it’s cool to be around people who are, so it kinda puts me in the mood. πŸ™‚ I do love the candy though! hehe. Yes, only a little over a month until your birthday. hehe.

YaY for Thanksgiving! And thank you for saying Thanksgiving. Sorry, but I think it’s really disrectful when people refer to it as “turkey day.” Maybe I’m just old-fashioned & particular, but I think Thanksgiving sounds a lot more respectful. πŸ™‚

I know what you mean about the hot days! We’ve had them too, and today was better. Heh, it’s funny because I mentioned the weather in my blog entry today as well. Go us!

Blessings to you, and enjoy your run!

I’m so excited for fall too. I’m always ready for it by the time it rolls around. I just wish we could skip that whole winter part that comes later.

I’ve only done black friday shopping once, and it was actually just Midnight of Thanksgiving. In the recent years, I was always working at the paper, and last year I was out away from civilization so I missed all the crazy shoppers.

  4. I’m trying to be a runner. I have a 5K in two weeks, but I won’t even be running for time. If I can just finish, that would be awesome!
