Hey guys and happy Thursday! I know I haven’t been blogging much lately, but being in a new town and writing for a living are taking a toll on my blogging. I also keep leaving my camera at home so I don’t have many interesting pictures lately.
This weekend I’m going out of town for my sister-in-law’s wedding reception, so I’m sure a lot of photos will be taken and you’ll get a nice little review of the weekend as well as a race review (since I’ll be close to my former hometown, I signed up for a 5K race early Saturday morning). Plus, if it’s anything like my wedding reception, there will be tons of awesome presents, food, and goodies, so should be pretty cool.
Since it’s Thursday, I’m linking up with Brunch with Amber and A Complete Waste of Makeup for It’s Okay Thursday.
… to be super excited I got my Google Analytics article published in the ACS Technologies E-News. I even printed out a copy for my parents and my mom said she enjoyed reading it (although the “About the author” biography was the only part she completely understood…). You can read the article here.
… to feel thankful I don’t have to venture out into the back to school traffic much. School started on Wednesday here, and this morning and was backed up for miles near my house. Fortunately, working from home, I have no commute. Clay’s had to adjust by going in earlier or later at his job.
… to watch preseason NFL football even when my husband isn’t watching it! We’re more excited for Gamecock football but preseason is neat too (I don’t favor a particular NFL team).
… to think “Honey Boo Boo” will probably be in therapy for years with all the attention she’s getting from the TLC channel and her new show. Why is it even called “The Learning Channel” anyway?
… to appreciate Amazon Prime 2-day shipping and any website offering free shipping just because it means you don’t have to venture into “Construction Zone” to go to some stores. No lie, signs on the roads here say “Thank you for visiting Construction Land!” and “Welcome to Construction Land!”
… to savor a little piece of biscotti with your morning coffee. I love coffee, but biscotti makes it that much better (especially dunking it!)
… to buy your husband a new Carolina Gamecocks hoody to thank him for fixing the washing machine himself! He fixed the leaky hose thanks to research and only spent $20. So much better than buying a whole new washer, and I love having a handyman around!
… to eat Chobani Champions “Honey-nana” kids yogurts and think they’re better than other yogurts. I might not be a kid, but I have good taste.
… to buy folders, storage boxes, and other school/office supplies and get super excited even though you’re not going back to school.
… to see pictures of college move-in and read about it on Facebook, then feel kinda sad that you’re not going back to college.
Have a great Thursday! I’ll be back soon with a real blog
.
Q1.) Do you order online a lot, or would you rather shop in a store? I really like ordering some things online, like printer ink or k-cup coffees that I know I like. Things like clothes and shoes I have to try on though, I’m just not comfortable buying online (unless I can return to a local store, of course).
Q2.) Has school started where you are? It started on Wednesday here in Charleston county, but some people started on Monday.
Q3.) What’s your favorite “kid food” to enjoy as an adult? Aside from the Chobani Champions yogurts, I like some kid cereals (the super sweet ones, hehe). I also like the Clif Z-Bars more than the adult ones (probably because they’re smaller and easier to carry along in my purse).

I haven’t been blogging much lately either. Life has been so busy! That’s cool that you get to participate in the 5K in your hometown. I’ve been watching preseason NFL too. I guess I’ll take what I can get until college football begins! I love Amazon Prime and the free 2 day shipping. It’s so worth it! Hope you have a fun weekend!
1) I buy 50% online/50% in stores. It’s just so convenient to buy online.
2) School started here a couple of weeks ago. I started back to school Monday though.
3) My favorite “kid food” would Chobani Champions. I love the vanilla/chocolate. I also love Fruity Pebbles
Fruity Pebbles are pretty tasty, hehe. My fave as a kid was Oreo O’s. I’m so sad they don’t make them anymore. I also like Count Chocula and the Monster Cereals, should be seeing them in stores in a month or so with Halloween coming up, ’tis exciting!
Amazon Prime is worth it! We ordered printer ink Tuesday night and it came today, pretty spiffy! Online shopping is addictive though, easy to spend too much since you don’t actually have to swipe your card.
Your blog is SO adorable! I’m stopping by to say HI from the link up. I can’t wait to follow along and read more
Thanks! I’ll make sure to check yours out too.
1) LOVE Amazon Prime! I am spoiled by their super fast shipping. I never have to leave the house.
Between Amazon and VitaCost, I can get alot of the things I need. I also like to shop for the kid’s clothing/shoes online. Easier than dragging them all into a store.
2) School starts on Monday. Thank God, I almost think we are one of the last places to start.
3) Not sure what “kid-food” I love. I don’t eat many processed foods, not a fan of vegan mac and cheese, so hmmmm do cookies count?? lol
Cookies definitely count! I love them too, especially the Trader Joe’s chocolate chip cookies!
so i just tried the champion flavors and i have to agree, I like them more. I have only tried one but you have inspired me to try more. have fun tonight!
I went to Target tonight to buy some and they were out =/. Made me sad! Hopefully I can find some soon!
Hey Amy!
I hope that you have a nice time going out of town for your sister-in-law’s wedding reception. Are you just going to the reception, or will you be there for the ceremony, too?
Yeah, there’s one main street here with the college traffic. In fact, lookks like they’re building a “stop here when red” so that it’s easier for the crosswalk. It’s nice seeing the campus “alive” again. Hehe. Reminds me of some of my college memories!
Congrats on being published again! My parents would be the same way, about reading and being proud, even if it’s out of their learning curve. Hehe.
Wow! Hope your 5k race goes well on Saturday.
I haven’t blogged much lately, either. Hopefully I’ll have something to say eventually.
Well, you have a wonderful night!
Well, there wasn’t an actual wedding in the sense of church/pastor/ceremony. They tied the knot with just immediate (i.e. parents pretty much) family there and are doing a reception. We have a few colleges here, none of them are really near me but I’ve seen quite a few college kids in town. We have like 6 colleges here, it’s crazy!
Love your Thursday posts
I always look forward to reading them! I hope you have lots of fun this weekend.
GREAT article! You are such a great writer.. I hope I can write as well as you when I “grow up.”
I like a mix of shopping online and in stores. As for kid food… Cliff Z Bars! In the brownie or S’mores flavor
I thought of another kid food… Lunchables!
i buy online out of ease, or if there’s a better deal. hooray for resourceful handymen husbands!
Definitely! I saw where yours fixed your car!
working from home is the greatest!
Happy Friday! Stop by nichollvincent.blogspot.com and say hello!
This is a real blog post if you ask me Amy! That is a bummer about the commute that Clay now has to deal with.. ugh
School has not started around these parts yet, but it does for the kids I babysit for on Tuesday! They live in a different town though and my town does not start until after labor day… same for me and nursing school
Mmm biscotti, it really is so good! I was at Whole Foods recently (as usual haha) and they had samples out of a chocolate almond one.. it was sooo so tasty
Have a nice weekend with family and good luck with the 5k!
Thanks, 5K review will be up in a few days, it went really well. Glad you have a few more days until you start nursing school, definitely get some rest. I got my biscotti from Publix but I will have to look at Whole Foods for that kind, it sounds yummy!
i hope u’re having a wonderful time!! can’t wait to hear how that 5k goes.
and awesome about the article being published!! u should be super excited! hmm, favorite kid food probably Pop-Tarts.
oh, and goldfish crackers
I am, it never gets old. I write instruction manuals mostly so I’m always happy when I do an article or something for work just because people actually read that!
5K review coming in a few days! Love some goldfish myself
.
i love the idea of “its okay” blog! CONGRATS on getting your article published!!! so excited for you!
Thanks Kristen
. I should have something else published soon too so I’ll blog when that’s up hehe.
Kid food is so much more fun than ‘adult’ food! I really love the Clif Kid bars and these new fruit and veggie strips I found at Target. I’d actually be really happy if my future kids would eat that kind of stuff–they’re tasty but a lot healthier than other kid-friendly options out there!
I haven’t tried the fruit strips but thanks for that idea. I like their kids bars better because the adult ones are just huge and I can’t eat the whole bar (and it’s weird to have pieces of bars lying around because you cut a protein bar in half… LOL).
When it is cold outside, I’m in a hurry, and not feeling 100% there is a part of me that craves Spagetti-Os. I probably have them about 2x a year.
Oh yeah I bet they would be really good in cold weather too
. I haven’t had spaghetti os in years though
. I know Annie’s makes some good organic ones though
